Dog parks in Temecula Valley: where to go and what each one has

Temecula has two city dog parks, Mike Naggar Community Park (29119 Margarita Road) and Redhawk Community Park (44747 Redhawk Parkway). Murrieta, Lake Elsinore and Wildomar add eight more, listed in the table below. Every park here is confirmed on its own city's website, and we left out any park we couldn't confirm there.

Dog parks in Temecula Valley: where to go and what each one has

Dog parks by city

This list comes only from official city pages, checked in October 2026. Where a city page does not say something, the table does not either. That means no guesses about shade, water or lighting. Hours and rules change, so confirm with the city before a first visit.

Menifee does not appear below. The city's park list we checked shows no dog park or off-leash area, and Aldergate Park there is owned by Valley-Wide, not the city. Canyon Lake, Winchester and Sun City are also missing because we didn't find an official page listing one.

Temecula

The city's dog parks page lists two: Michael "Mike" Naggar Community Park at 29119 Margarita Road and Redhawk Community Park at 44747 Redhawk Parkway. The city's Redhawk page lists a dog park and enclosed dog runs. The Naggar page lists a dog park.

Hours are a point of confusion. The city page gives two sets: 5 AM to 10 PM daily with maintenance closures Tuesdays 10 AM to 1 PM, and 8 AM to dusk daily with closures Wednesdays 10 AM to 1 PM. It does not say which applies to which park. Call the city at 951-694-6444 (8 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday) before you drive over.

Murrieta

Murrieta's own FAQ names two parks with fenced dog areas. Torrey Pines Park at 39455 Torrey Pines Road is described as the city's first park with a connecting dog park, with a small and a large dog area where dogs can be off-leash.

Alderwood Park at 28796-28622 Baxter Road has small and large dog areas as well, both built from a mix of turf and decomposed granite. The city lists shaded seating for owners, dog exercise equipment, an agility course and pet waste stations at both parks.

Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore has the most. The city's dog parks page links five: Canyon Hills, Serenity, Summerly, McVicker Canyon and Rosetta Canyon Sports Park. Its own Parks page counts four, so the city's pages disagree. Each individual park page confirms a dog area, which is why all five are in the table.

Rosetta Canyon and Canyon Hills both have separate sections for small and large dogs. Each park page links to the city's Dog Park Rules and Regulations. The dog parks page also asks owners to know which vaccinations their dogs need, to follow dog park etiquette and to keep a pet home if it is ill.

Wildomar

Wildomar's city website lists four parks. Only Regency Heritage Park, 20171 Autumn Oaks Place, is listed with a dog park. The other three (Marna O'Brien, Windsong and Malaga) are not.

Before you go: a short checklist

None of this comes from a city page. It is plain good manners, and it keeps the parks open for everyone.

Bring bags and use them. A dog park with uncollected waste is how a park gets a bad name, and it is the same waste problem we cover in how often to pick up dog poop. Dogs that pick up something at the park can also bring it home, so see whether you can get sick from dog poop for what to wash and when.

At home, the same waste piles up in your own yard. If you would rather spend the weekend at Redhawk than behind the dog with a shovel, Scoop King serves Temecula, Murrieta and Lake Elsinore among other cities. Plans start at $59 a month on the pricing page.
